Firefighter Fitness - Full GearWhat equipment should I bring?

We encourage you to perform these workouts in your bunker gear and SCBA as long as the equipment is clean and free of chemicals and debris. If you don’t have your gear, every workout can be modified to accommodate you. We have some loaner equipment on site too. All bunker gear should be N.F.P.A. compliant, and we highly encourage you to be fit-tested annually through your department if you are going to use SCBA. If you do not have a spare set of bunker gear or SCBA, you can bring a weighted vest to use in place of gear. Some portions of these workouts may require you to doff your gear and SCBA.

What should I wear?

You can wear regular exercise attire to these workouts (does not have to be N.F.P.A. compliant) including t-shirts, shorts/sweatpants, and sneakers. Duty boots are acceptable but be sure to have a pair of running shoes with you. In addition, you will want to bring a towel and drink for hydration. A personal exercise mat is optional.
