Program Info
What is the NLP Youth Athlete Development Program?
The Youth Athlete Development Program is an introduction to training for athletes ages 8-12. The program focuses on injury prevention, character development, and improved physical performance.
When are the classes?
Saturday mornings from 9:00-10:00am and you may start the program at any time.
Should my son/daughter be training this young?
Yes! Preadolescent athletes can benefit from physical training in numerous ways. Athletes will learn proper sprint technique, be exposed to basic strengthening exercises including both their bodyweight and medicine balls, and increase their overall athleticism. We emphasize long-term development of the children both as athletes and as people. Many people believe that strength training is bad for children. THIS IS COMPLETELY FALSE. Current research indicates numerous long-term health benefits including: decreased risk for cardiovascular disease, cancer, osteoporosis, diabetes, and much more. Supervised, sensible, professionally administered programs such as ours yield tremendous benefits to young athletes.
What does a typical class consist of?
All of our classes begin with a proper warm-up followed by sprint technique exercises, agility development, strength development, and medicine ball training. Much emphasis is placed on technique and proper execution of the exercises while maintaining a fun environment for youth athletes to train in.
What should I wear and what should I bring?
Athletic wear is required. No open toe shoes or hats may be worn during the workout. Bring a second pair of shoes to change at the front door to prevent tracking dirt into the facility. Please also bring a drink to hydrate during the workout.
What is the refund policy?
There are no refunds for the NLP Youth Athlete Development Program. If you decide to quit part way through a session there are no credits issued or partial refunds. If you cancel before a YADP session begins we can provide you a credit toward a future date. Credits may not be transferred and there are no cash refunds – this is not negotiable.
How do I sign up?
Come down to our facility during normal business hours, 9:00am to 7:00pm, Monday through Friday. Alternatively, you may register before or after the workout on Saturdays.
What is the cost?
Our program costs less than any other program yet yields more results. How is this? Because we believe that money shouldn’t stop athletes from training, and by keeping our costs down can attract more athlete. The difference is that at NLP you’re working with some of the country’s best strength & conditioning coaches who have worked at the national level, all at the fraction of the cost of less credible programs!
